Foundations, Freedom, and Revival

As we kick off July, I am excited about the coming month. As I head into the last month of my 90-day challenge to build a stronger foundation for my life, I am excited to see what God is doing in me and my family. July is a month that we think about freedom. This week we celebrate the foundation of a new nation.

As I think through my goals and plans for July, I am reminded to continue to focus on prayer and keeping God first in everything. It is easy to set plans and schedule all the projects and activities of the summer and then try to fit God into whatever time is left. I talk about some things I would like to see changed in my life and my family. We talk about changes we would like to see in our community and our nation. I set plans to make the changes, I talk to my family, we hold rallies for our nation, and encourage people to vote for our favorite candidate. All this is good, but the most important thing we need to do is stop and spend time in prayer. Not praying for what we want, but that the hearts of people will be drawn to God.

My life, my family, and our nation are all in need of revival. Every revival begins with prayer. As we kick off July, spend some time today praying that God will come into your life and his Holy Spirit will begin to lead you. Pray that the hearts of your family and this nation will turn to God and He will come and heal this land. Pray that the foundation of your life and this nation will be strengthened. Pray that the hearts of the people will be drawn to God and we will seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14
