Let your yes be yes and your no be “sure, why not”

At some point, I just have to say no.  It is usually not a problem for me, unless there is food involved.

I started my day sitting at my desk, eating a package of peanut butter crackers and a bottle of water.  A wonderfully healthy breakfast… well, it works for today.

Two of my co-workers invited me to go to the cafeteria and have breakfast with them.  One of them is celebrating a birthday today.  It would just be rude of me to not go.

The omelet was delicious… and rather large.

Another co-worker shows up with bagels from Panera Bread and offered them to everyone.  It would just be rude not to eat one… especially with the hazelnut cream cheese that was calling me from within the bag.

The bagel was wonderful and now I’m getting a bit full.  Three breakfasts down and it is barely eight o’clock.

Now my manager shows up and starts handing out full size candy bars for appreciation of our work over the last few weeks.  How do you say no to your boss?  It would be rude not to take one.  Oh, you have PayDay and Almond Joy!  Ok.  Maybe I’ll take two.

After three breakfasts, I think I’ll save the candy bars for later.  Oh, my.  It’s lunch time.  Got to go.  I wonder what’s for dinner?
